From the lens: His passion for photography started at a tender age and he expressed it through drawing. Years later, Benjamin Tweny did not wait to go to school to follow his dream, but rather invested in a camera and started practicing what he loves to do.
What is the name of your business?
Tweny Moments.
Why did you join the photography business?
My love for this job started when I was a little boy. I loved drawing. I always wanted to document what I saw and when I grew older, I bought a camera to express my passion.
They say photographers have a third eye.. What sparks you off when you are shooting?
I actually shoot everything I find appealing to the eye, but to be precise, I look at shadows, the sun rays, and the framing.
How much do you charge?
It depends on what kind of photo-shoot. Sometimes I charge per hour, per day or even per three hours. I charge about Shs500,000 for three hours and the client is rest assured to get about 200 pictures. However, the price is negotiable depending on the function, place and who I am working for.
How much did you invest in this business?
Well in photography, we invest every day. I started with an investment of around Shs1.5m, which I used to buy my camera but I am still investing, especially in lenses. Photography is one of the most expensive professions.
Did you study photography?
I did study photography. I am mostly self-taught and I also love consulting people who know more than I do. I try to learn something new every day. I am actually still learning.
What camera would you recommend to someone?
Well, I believe any camera can be good as long as you know it inside out, but personally I admire a Canon 5d mark four. It is a beast and it costs around Shs14m.
How can someone get you for your services?
Anyone who wants my services can check me out on Instagram @tweny_moments and it also has my contacts.
