Christian plot: Gospel singer King Wesley brings East Africa together
gospel music: Many will be surprised that the event is taking place in a bar. But for King Wesley, it is all about breaking the perception about christian events being boring.

If you thought christian events would never come to a bar near you, think again. For the first time ever, King Wesley has organised an event dubbed ‘The Beat Connect’ at the Heights Bar in Centenary Park, where mostly gospel artistes from East Africa will connect for a powerful music performance.
Slated to kick off at 4pm, the event will have artistes such as Dafari and Sowqi from Kenya, Ambassador from Rwanda, DJs Awar, Rayne, Peruz, Conqueror, Rymes and Jhoshu teaming up with Ugandan artistes such as Philla, Zabuli, Crystal Fabulous and Gway, among others.
Speaking about the event, Wesley said his main aim of organising the event is to showcase the definition of a christian party.
“The Beat Connect is a christian dance party but because people think christian events are boring, we want to break that mentality by bringing it closer to you. We are breaking boundaries and shifting paradigms that christian events can also be interesting,” he said.
And to prove a point, he also emphasised that it is going to be an annual event held during this period but in different places, depending on the turn out.
However, entrance to the event is not free like other christian shows as you will be expected to part with Shs12,000 only. This comes with free drinks and nyama choma during the evening.
