Briefly tell us about yourself?
I am Prossy Namugenyi, a radio presenter doing the Konoweeka show (Lunch time show) Monday to Friday, Sanyuuka ne Weekend, from 7am- 1am every Sunday at the same time. I also read the international news bulletin at 4pm everyday.

When and how did you become a radio presenter?
In January 2014. I began my media journey at Top Radio in Masaka as an intern. After two months, they retained me. Shortly, I joined Suubi FM until today.

Tell me about your education background.
I went to Butayunja Primary School, Babiito Primary School, both in Bukomansimbi District for my primary school. I later joined Kitooma Light Secondary School in Bukomansimbi for both O and A-Level. I completed school with a diploma in media at A4 Institute of Computer and Media Studies in Ssembabule.

What is your dream media house?
NTV.

Who are your role models?
Prossy Patra and Lady Titie.

What inspired you to be a radio presenter?
Since childhood, I admired people who worked on radio. I had a dream of becoming a radio presenter. I was extremely passionate about radio, but my mother instead wanted me to be a teacher. In my Senior Six vacation, I got a job as a teacher and I would save part of my salary. My mother forced me to study Education, so one day when she travelled, my aunt and I conspired to find a place I could study media studies.

What are the qualities of a good presenter?
For me, hard work determines a lot, they should be in position to keep and manage time. With radio, time is money when it comes to adverts. Once you waste it, you are gone and lastly, you need to be creative. Listeners always need innovative and quality stuff and therefore, value addition to the programme is very important because it makes the fans stick to the programme.

Have you benefited from media work?
Well, the journey has just started and I guess I will achieve more, but so far, I have managed to start up a small retail shop in Nyendo-Masaka, my audience love and respect me, and I also voice and produce adverts.

Are you married?
I am dating Hussein Mutanda, aka Tonny Rich, an artiste, and we plan to wed soon.

What message do you have for someone who wants to join media business?
Stick to your dream, work hard, be focused, do not give up and do not let other people decide for you, just be yourself. If you believe, you can fulfill your dream.

What are your hobbies?
Swimming, listening to cool music and outing with my boyfriend.

What is your best dish?
Matooke and silver fish.
