Public speaking has never been easy. It is even more difficult when journalists are standing before you with glaring cameras.
This is exactly where Jad Helou, the operations manager of Kololo-based Prunes restaurant, found himself. But he took on his fears at the opening of Prunes Express restaurant at Shell Bugolobi on Monday morning.
As he went on about the range of dishes and coffees at Prunes, the media and guests, including Vivo Energy boss Hans Paulsen, were nodding to his “good speech”, but Jad was not.
Jad told journalists that he wanted his speech as perfect as possibly the coffee he serves his customers. “Forgive me for this speech. I am not a talker, I am more comfortable with matters of the restaurants,” he said, sending journalists into laughter. But, that did not stop us – yes, from enjoying the breakfast that was on the house!
