After eight years of hawking, the idea of talent booking, socialite and renowned talent manager Emmanuel Mulondo, a.k.a Emma Carlos, finally registered some success. Carlos was appointed by Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) to handle the entertainment for the organisation’s first ever tax sensitisation concert held at Namboole last Saturday.
The Twinkle Star Agency boss was charged with booking about 50 entertainers to perform at the Omugano Gwa URA fest. And although his clients had not rated his services by press time, Carlos was convinced he had done a tremendous job; “Twinkle Star has scored highly on management over the years, but bookings had eluded us. However, I am glad that’s now in the past. We did well over the weekend and I am sure, our clients will call us again,” Carlos told us.
He is said to have received more than Shs100m for the job, and so far, there has not been complaints from any of the entertainers on payment.
Carlos urged all artistes and the corporate world to subscribe to booking agencies as a safe way to deliver. The artiste line-up included Jose chameleone, Bobi Wine, Radio n Weasel, Gravity, Cindy, etc. Talent booking is where an agent match makes talent seekers and talent bearers for a commission.
