Songstress Lilian Mbabazi gears up for debut concert

TAKING CENTRE STAGE: Under Blu3, Lilian performed at several concerts with her group mates, but she can now hold forte on her own, writes Isaac Ssejjombwe

Former Blu3 group member Lilian Mbabazi announced her plans to hold her first solo concert dubbed UP Close and Personal last week. The do is slated for August 21.
The artiste made this announcement during a media event at her record label’s Deuces Entertainment Group offices in Kansanga.
Lilian announced she will officially be releasing her new self-titled Lilian Mbabazi album, which features songs such as Girl, Kuuma Obudde and Memories feauturing A Pass. “I’m very excited and nervous at the same time because this is going to be my first concert as a solo artiste. ”
She added that she has been looking forward to holding her solo concert for years. Lilian Mbabazi cannot wait for the opportunity to showcase her talent as a live musician, as well as share the new material she has been working on.
“My Up Close and Personal concert is a chance to thank my fans and give back to them for all the years of love and support. I promise to go all out, together with my band the Sundowners, as we take the live music experience to another level,” she promised.
In what is already a highly anticipated musical event, Lilian will showcase some of the hits that have already made her a favourite in Uganda and neighbouring countries like Vitamin, Kawa, Danger, Dagala and Ye Gwe Weka among others.
Signed to Deuces Entertainment Group (DEG) at the beginning of 2015, the company’s CEO, Kaires Odom praised Lilian for her talent and hard work during the media briefing. “Lilian is one of the most talented vocalists I have ever worked with and I believe that she will soon be considered one of Africa’s great artistes.
Tickets to the concert will cost Shs100,000 but, in the lead-up to the concert, fans should look out on Lilian’s fanpage on Facebook and Twitter (@lmbabazi) for chances to win tickets to the show and copies of her new album. Through following her social media platforms, fans stand a chance to attend a listeners’ party on the August 13, as well as dinner with Lilian.
