Ne-yo to record with Maurice Kirya

Maurice Kirya and singing brothers Vampino and Saba Saba lost their mother last Sunday. It was a sad week for the singers, but at least Kirya got some comforting news in the fact that he will be recording with American Rn’B star Ne-yo.
Just weeks after his performance at the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards (Mamas) in South Africa, Ne-yo is set to return to the African continent. This time round, he will be performing in our neighbourhood in Nairobi.
Ne-yo will be the guest to be featured on Coca-Cola’s flagship African music show, Coke Studio Africa, for the new season.
He will share the stage with African stars including Wangechi (Kenya), Alikiba (Tanzania), Dama Do Bling (Mozambique), Ice Prince (Nigeria) and our very own Maurice Kirya for a mega mash up.
Ne-yo released an official statement in which he expressed excitement on the opportunity to return to the continent.
“It’s a true honour to return to Africa and celebrate artistes from all over the continent. By creating this musical fusion through Coke Studio Africa, people of all races, ethnicities and religion will come together through this remarkable opportunity. I’m so excited to build lasting moments with all of these incredibly talented artistes and musicians,” read Ne-yo’s statement.
While in Kenya, Ne-yo will work on a special Coke Studio Africa song alongside five select stars including our very own Maurice Kirya.
Last year, Wyclef Jean was the guest performer on the Coke Studio Africa Season 2.
Coke Studio Africa celebrates and showcases the diversity of African musical talent by giving upcoming artistes the opportunity to work with some of the best local and international music and production talent.
