For the past nine years, every third term holidays, holidaymakers have converged together and partied away at a get together dubbed the Annual Buzz Leavers’ rock.
The event organised by Buzz Group, the same people that are behind the annual Buzz Teeniez Awards (BTAs), has over the years evolved from a simple holidaymakers’ affair, to a major event on the entertainment calendar.
In the past few years, the event organisers have flown in international performers ranging from globally respected artistes to Djs.
This year’s Buzz Leavers’ rock takes place tomorrow (Saturday, Decemeber 6) at Garden City.
Rumours have been making rounds that Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage will be headlining the event tomorrow, but the organisers couldn’t avail us with a comment to that effect.
However, we have it on good authority that, for the first time in the nine-year history of this event, the teenagers will be partying on two separate floors.
“We are having a disco floor with over 300 light fixtures to create a memorable dance experience for the teens. This floor will have a rich line up of disc spinners, including DJ Shiru, DJ Roja, DJ Urban Star and DJ Slick Stuart who will play uninterrupted music on this floor from 10am to 6pm. This floor will be weather proof,” Julius Kyazze, the Buzz Group CEO, told us.
He added that those that are more into performances, will be served exactly that at upper rooftop floor.
“Performances will kick off in the morning and they will go on for the whole day without interruptions. We have Mowzey Radio and Weasel, Chameleone, Cindy, Irene Ntale, Pallaso, Fille, Apass and many more artistes that have already confirmed their presence,” Kyazze added.
