What is the name of your business?
I called it Blaze Events and media. We do events management, branding, product marketing, and organising leisure tours etc.
Which of those makes more money?
Events management because it’s broad; we hire sound equipment, photography, videography, decorations, tents and lighting.
Why this business?
I grew up loving events. I had a friend who was so close to Bebe Cool and we used to hang out with them. That exposure made me love partying and at the same time making a lot of money.
When did you start?
I started in 2011.

Action Aid, Mukwano, Afrimax, Panorama Cottages and Samuka Island, among others.
What are your rates?
We charge depending on the function. But the least we ask for is Shs1m and the highest I’ve charged so far is Shs2.5m.

How grateful are you for this business?
It has made me who I am and helped me network. I bought the building where my offices are located. I take care of my family because I’m the first born.
What are some of the challenges you face?
Maintaining a business is not easy. Sometimes I go an extra mile of offering free services to my clients, like free lighting when someone books us for sound and so on. We try and beat their expectations.

I’m the director, I recruit staff, have the vision, create ideas, come up with plans, meet clients, cover loopholes and basically do all the office work.
