First, it was Andrew Benon Kibuuka, the veteran actor as well as radio and TV personality who quit Radio Simba to go into retirement. And it wasn’t long before Kibuuka’s longtime partner and close buddy Ssenkubuge Siasa also decided to call it quits at the Bukoto-based station.
Word is that Ssenkubuge insisted that he couldn’t work alone without Kibuuka. However, other sources indicated that Ssenkubuge thought it was time he moved on.
Ssenkubuge, a founding member and one of the directors of popular drama group Bakayimbira Dramactors quit Radio Simba last week after he had served them with a two months’ notice.
According to sources, Radio Simba proprietor Aga Sekalala Jr tried to convince Ssenkubuge to stay but the veteran actor stood his ground. We are yet to establish who will be replacing Ssenkubuge and Kibuuka!
