Rapper Navio has been off the social scene back home but his music has kept his fans in touch. Navio, has been on a weeklong Nigerian tour. And at the end of his tour, Navio returned home both richer and with very good news for all his fans out there. The singer was confirmed as the host of the upcoming African Global DJ Awards (AGDA), a huge multi-country show to be held on May 4 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The African Global DJ Awards is the first major awards show to recognise the growing importance of disc jockeys on the African and global music scene. It will recognise DJ’s from across the continent in a number of different categories based on the DJ’s body of work and individual contribution in their countries. The show is organised by Stronghold Entertainment and Stats Media. Navio will be the main host alongside Channel O VJ Denrele at the star-studded event. “I’m looking forward to representing Uganda and the spirit of music in general at the African Global DJ Awards. As a hip hop artistE, the importance of the art form of deejaying cannot be underestimated and I’m thankful to the show organisers, for the initiative and for choosing me,” Navio said.
In Nigeria, Navio performed alongside former BBA star Goldie at the popular Lagos Industry Nite and at the Loud “N” Proud Live Series show held at Ember Creek, Lagos. He also took time off to make a cameo appearance in 2Face Idibia’s video shoot. Go Nav! Represent UG to the fullest!
