As singer Jose Chameleone awaits word from the Director of Public Prosecution about an incident in which a one Robert Karamagi allegedly set himself ablaze at the singer’s home, the Valu Valu singer’s family moved in to give him courage and show the support.
The singer’s dad, Mzee Mayanja called for a family meeting last weekend. It is believed the meeting was aimed at getting Chameleone’s younger brother and singer Weasel to slow down on the hate campaign that him (Weasel) and the rest of his Good Lyfe crew members were engaged in on Facebook, saying Chameleone has a case to answer over Karamagi’s demise.
However Weasel skipped the meeting, a move that annoyed his parents to the bone.
The family engagement came at a time when Mowzey Radio was making post after another on his Facebook wall trying to show how ugly Chameleone is.
In one of the posts, Mowzey wrote, “You almost killed my brother, you beat up Weasel and went ahead to kidnap a man from Masaka and now you say your wife scared a thief and he set himself ablaze?”
Mowzey’s post was received by mixed reactions as several people posted responding with abuses while others supported him.
A few days later, Mowzey questioned why the police could not arrest Chameleone. “Chameleone is wanted for murder and yet I still see him in public! I have voiced my anguish and all I get is insults from his sympathisers. I’m deeply disturbed by the Uganda police for their silence … no wonder Batte the Regional Crime Intelligence Office, Kajjansi, has Valu Valu as his ring back tone!!! …try for yourself!”
And all through this, Chameleone has maintained his earlier statements, “I’m innocent, I’m not above the law!”
We are yet to get the police’s reaction on Mowzey’s claims!
