There are fads that have everyone is wearing and the only way for them is out. Don’t get caught in them in the near future
If Fashion Week is what gives us a glimpse of what we will be wearing into the future I can say, in the near future men and women are going to share clothes. Not in that “let me wear your t-shirt”, no, more like your guy or brother or God forbid dad saying, “Can I borrow your blackscarf? I think it will go great with the yellow strapless dress and frilly boots.”
If I were a guy, I would declare right now when it is still safe that I will not conform to any trends or fads. Okay, maybe that is abit extreme considering I still need you to read my column which dishes out fashion tips. Maybe I should warn you instead. If someone tries to sell you a skirt or strapless mini dress thingie mbu it’s the latest dude trend, run for the hills!
Okay, I just had to say that after being amused by the some of pictures from London Fashion Week’s men’s collection. Now onto the topic of the day. Trends that have hit so much they may as well be on their way out. I am not saying that we should stop just yet, but and mark my words on this, you will wake up one day in the not too distant future and you are the only one still wearing.
Leggings: That ship may have already sailed except for a few die hard jegging lovers, or is it lazy dressers. Pants, actual pants that fit like a second skin yes but are not made of spandex, and stretchy cotton are creeping onto trendy lane, while the really trendy shops have completely forgotten jeggings.
Flats: I know bad news. Just when our feet were getting used to getting comfortable and trendy at the same time. But these flats are so in they are definitely on their way out. You will say there are still cute ones and they are still being worn and loved. I say, remember gladiators? There were still cute ones, and they were still loved, when I bought that beautiful leopard print pair. Big mistake because I wore it like once before I realised I could have been the only person in this town who was still thought they were cool.
