Viewer’s choice Award

In Uganda, the film industry is only but in its baby stages and as months pass by, it continues to take baby steps. Yet save for movie reviews in a few publications, there is not much being done to recognise the men and women behind these films. But well, we can now reliably inform you that there is an opportunity for our film stars to shine. This will be at the first ever Africamagic Viewers’ Choice Awards created to recognise and celebrate African film and TV talent.

It is definitely good news especially now that the deadline for submissions which is free has been postponed to November 9 by 9pm. The winner will be announced at a gala in March, 2013.This is a huge opportunity for all professionals in front and behind the camera that should see our film industry go to another level.

Nigeria with popular actors like Stephanie Okereke-Linus, Genevieve Nnaji, Patience Ozokwor, Desmond Elliot is bound to make the competition tight, just like Ghana, South Africa whose movie industry is developed. But even then good luck to our own the like of Abby Mukibi and Miriam Ndagire, go shine! The awards are sponsored by AfricaMagic in association with Mulitchoice.
