Chosen Becky decries promoters’ unprofessionalism

Chosen Becky

A video clip has been doing rounds on social media with artiste Chosen Becky complaining of not being paid by a promoter after performing on stage.

The singer said the promoter refused to pay her even after making it on time and performing.

She, however, followed this up with a long post on her social media handles.

In her statement, Chosen Becky said that she had been silent for so long and is very disappointed with some unprofessional Ugandan promoters who book artistes and never fulfil the terms agreed upon.

“Guys I was booked on December 31, 2023, at COLLINS HOTEL MUKONO, I made sure I arrived on time for the performance, but the so-called Promoter Galaxy and a certain lady refused to pay me yet the organizer had given them the money. I forewent other shows and drove my car with a photographer, driver and makeup artiste who all wanted money, but these people fooled me and refused to pay me. Sometimes our fans don’t get to know the dynamics, and they end up blackmailing us yet it’s the promoters who are always wrong,” reads part of Chosen Becky’s rant.

She added that the same thing happened to her on Christmas in some shows.

“I am so disappointed with you event promoters, otherwise, let us cooperate and respect our clients, respect my job and I will respect yours too.”
