Alien Skin given 14 days to pay Shs250m or face court

The proprietor of Deluxe Grill and Lounge Didas Tabaro, who is also Mbarara District chairperson has threatened to drag musician Alien Skin to courts of law after the Sitya Danger singer allegedly failed to show up at a music show he had organised.

Tabro claims he injected Shs250 million in orgnaising the music show following an agreement with the manager of the ‘Born Unruly’ musician, real name Patrick Mulwana that he would persom at the Mabrara-based hangout on October 28, 2023, only for him to switch off his mobile telephone numbers after no show.

“We contacted the management of Alien Skin wanting him to come and perform on Deluxe Grill and lounge on October 28, 2023 (Saturday), payments were made and he later sent the photos to be used on the posters. We advertised the show thinking he was coming. Unfortunately that very day, Alien Skin and his manager did not pick up the calls. We wanted to know if there was a problem and in case it was there they would have communicated. At around 8pm they switched off the phone,” Tabaro claimed.

He said he lost a lot of money in organizing the event and that revelers and patrons have lost trust in the venue (Deluxe Grill and Lounge) because of the actions of the musician and his manager.

“As the management incurred the expenses, we had hired a modern stage with good lights, the public had been informed of his (Alien Skin) coming, they might not trust us again. That is a lot of damage. The public perception is too bad now. We used a lot of money to advertise and the person did not show up,” he said.

He’s given the musician 14 days to pay the money or face court.

“I have so far sent him a notice informing him to pay for the damages caused which cost Shs250 million. I even approached the manager but he feared talking on the phone because he spoiled the company’s name. Everything we had agreed on is on record. I have given him 14 days to pay that money failure to do so he will not receive any other notice. We shall move to courts of law,” he said.

However, efforts to talk to Alien Skin or his manager were futile as our repeated phone calls to his known telephone numbers went unanswered.
