Creative Fridays, an artistic mix and mingle

Wonder Jr, Solomon Tazibone, Cleopatra and Maritza.

Media personality Martha Byoga alias, Maritza, actress Cleopatra Koheirwe, rapper and actor Derrick Muhanguzi alias Wonder JR alongside celebrity and editorial stylist Solomon Tazibone, made the panel for the first edition of the Creative Fridays, at MoTiv.

Each of the creatives comes from a different field, yet during the talk, it was clear there was a lot they have in common in terms of their journeys, positioning and marketing.

And these were the gist of many of the things they talked about in the evening, from standing out to defining yourself in a market where a lot seems to happen.

Shantal Njenzi, a marketing and communications officer at MoTiv said the initiative is intended to help creatives to find their way into the industry and turn their talents into a business.

“Creative Fridays is a new initiative under our current campaign Discover Your Tribe. It is intended to get creatives closer to people who are like-minded to connect, collaborate and network,” said Njenzi.

Koheirwe, said her main reason for participating was to share her knowledge and experience in the creative space and feels this is an initiative that will help in bringing creatives together.

“There is a way we do a lot individually and as a unit, we don’t have the space or resources to do something together without necessarily being hired.” she pointed out.

She called upon creatives to collaborate with each other because it helps in widening their reach among other things.

The Prestige actress also advised creatives to have financial literacy, learn as much as possible to have financial management so that it helps them grow their money, invest it and use it wisely. She feels they are so much into their passion that they forget that along the way, they need to know how to brand themselves and price their work.

The opening day was successful because different creatives had conversations about their challenges and achievements among others.

Creative Fridays is a weekly initiative.
