Ahead of his show this Friday at Kampala Serena hotel, legendary Soukous (Lingala) legend Awilo Longomba has touched down at Entebbe International airport.

The Congolese musician touched down at exactly 2:30PM, alongside some of his Paris-based band mates, with whom he will be gracing the stage in a concert that is certain to have many reminiscing about old times as they dance the night away to Awilo’s greatest hits. Other members of the band arrived earlier yesterday evening.

Awilo, who became a star back in 1995 and has established himself over the years as one of Africa’s finest artistes of his generation and is certainly no stranger to Uganda going by the number of times he has performed here before.

Organised by Cents in partnership with Singleton, Friday’s show is the Congolese star’s first public concert in Uganda in more than a decade and he will be on the same stage with several top Ugandan artistes including leading gospel act Levixone, Jackie Chandiru, Cindy, among many others.

Tickets to the show are being sold at Shs100,000 (general), Shs400,000 for VIP and Shs4m for a table of 10
