Kennedy Zziwa bags 40 under 40 award

The year started on a good note for celebrated hair stylist Kennedy Katebalirwe Zziwa, commonly known as Hair by Zziwa with him being nominated in the 40 under 40 awards in the ‘Beauty and Lifestyle’ category of the most influential Africans on the African continent.

The year just got better for the hairstylist after he won the honorary award over the weekend.

The awards that took place at Leonardo Hotel Sandtown, South Africa aim to identify, honour, and celebrate a cross-section of the continent’s most influential and accomplished young business leaders under the age of forty.

He was nominated in the same category as Lungile Mhlongo (Numa Medical Aesthetics) from South Africa.

His efforts as not only a hairstylist but also his skilling programme for youth and his haircare line of products have finally paid off.

Sharing the good news on his social media platforms, Zziwa thanked all the people that have supported his dream.

“Ever since I chose to the decision to sober up, I’ve been in and out of rehab for like 5 times. It’s a real struggle. During that struggle, I distracted myself by starting up a factory that manufactures Zziwa Hair Care products, scalp oil, beard oil, shampoos, conditioners; struggled to get the products approved by UNBS until they got approved! I also opened up a vocational school to equip the youth with practical skills. we’re responsible for the best talents on the market! I’m currently in South African; I was recognized and nominated amongst the most influential Africans under 40! the awards were in Johannesburg, I traveled a week earlier to experience SA! I surprisingly won an honorary award; the judges said I was  in the right direction!” reads part of the post.

Designer Abbas Kaijuka, Brian Muhumuza and Humphrey Nabimanya were also nominated in the same awards, where a nominee had to be an entrepreneur, shareholder, founder, or co-founder of a company.
