Green Festival’s Joseph Masembe represents Uganda at climate change march in San Francisco

When you hear the name Joseph Masembe, you know the next talk will be about the Green Festival known to many as the My Kid is a Superstar, an event that brings together young children every year to merry-make and also plant trees to preserve the environment.

Besides the festival, Masembe has also introduced the Climate Change March, through his Little Hands Go Green oraganisation. This took place a few months ago before he organized this year’s Green Festival which happened two weeks ago at Kololo Airstrip in Kampala.

As though that was not all for him, Masembe was invited to join other environmentalists across the world to attend the Rise for Climate Change March in San Francisco. Joining thousands of environmentalists, they marched from Embarcadero  to Civic.

Masembe said the march happened over the weekend ahead of the Global Climate Action summit meant to take place today and tomorrow. The march organized by the UN and the Governor of California Mr Jerry Brown will have researchers, world leaders and activists.
