Danz Kumapeesa’s charity concert yields Shs3.5m only

After collecting only Shs7m from a car wash to save music Producer Danz Kumapeesa’s life, organisers thought they would raise more money from a concert last Saturday at calendar house, far from it!

The charity concert, which was organized to ensure that all hospital bills are cleared, brought to their pockets only shs3.5 million.

Kumapeesa, who was clobbered into coma several months ago, is still admitted to hospital at Nsambya in critical condition.

The proceeds from the concert are however not a true representation of the sales, as all tickets sold out.

Tickets were sold at Shs10, 000, shs50, 000 and shs500, 000 for ordinary, VIP and tables respectively.

Kumapeesa’s mother, according to Mc Kats, received Shs1.5m only, from the concert organisers.

The venue at which the concert took place was offered free of charge, with the adverts and sound running at no cost as well.

Local artists like Bebe Cool, Jose Chameleon, Fille, Ykee Benda, Nuttty Neithan and Winnie Nwagi among others also performed at no cost.

Danz Kumapeesa is a music producer behind songs like ‘mbozi Zamalwa’ by Bebe Cool and Sauti Sol, ‘Musawo’ by Winnie Nwagi’ and ‘Yo sweet’ by Rema among others.
