Eddy Kenzo beats Diamond Platinumz, Alikiba for East African Male artiste award

After winning a Black Entertainment Television (BET) Award in 2015, Singer Ediriisa Musuuza, known to many as Eddy Kenzo, has never looked back. The singer has performed in different parts of the world, filling up stadiums thanks to the platform given to him by BET.

Last evening, Kenzo added another accolade to his bag when he won another international award. The Sitya Loss Singer was awarded as the Best Male Artiste in East Africa, at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) held in Lagos, Nigeria.

Eddy Kenzo beat artistes like Diamond Platinumz, Alikiba, Octopizzo, Shinishaw, Mura and Kibrom. Kenzo’s biggest threats competition to the award were Diamond and Alikiba but he beat them to the Award, thanks to his song Shauri Yako which got him a nomination in the category.

Eneka got Diamond Platinumz in the category whereas Aje got Alikiba contending for the same. However, the organisers and the fans thought the Award was fit to go to Kenzo.

On his Facebook page, Eddy Kenzo thanked Ugandans for the support saying: “Hello my fans and Africa at large. From the bottom of my heart I want to say thank you so much for being part of this great success. I have had sleepless nights hustling tirelessly to make sure we go an extra mile every time. Winning best male East Africa and best album at the Afrima shows how great our God is and how He works in ways we cannot see. This is not for me alone but for mother Uganda, East Africa and Africa generally.”
