Zari Hassan: Why I deleted my husband’s photo on my social media

Zari Hassan with her husband Shakib Lutaya

Social media was set abuzz when Zari Hassan, the South African-based Ugandan socialite, deleted photos of her husband, Shakib ‘Cham’ Lutaaya, from her social media accounts.

Fans immediately speculated trouble in paradise.

Contrary to the rumors swirling around, Zari Hassan has since assured her followers that all is well in her marriage.

In a recent statement, she explained that the decision to remove her husband’s photos was a deliberate move aimed at differentiating between her personal life and her brand.

“I am customizing my social media pages to be more about Zari the brand. I don’t want my personal life interfering with my business or my brand. I’m a lot of things, a mother, a wife, an entrepreneur, and a socialite,” Hassan stated.

She further elaborated that she and Shakib are on good terms, dispelling any notions of marital discord.

“I’m with him. I want to see how I maintain my brand without really pulling in a lot of my personal life,” she affirmed.

The socialite, known for her glamorous lifestyle and high-profile events, emphasized her commitment to managing her public image while maintaining a healthy personal life.

Zari Hassan has been a prominent figure in the entertainment and business scenes, and she aims to strike a balance between her roles as a public figure, wife, and mother.

In October, the couple celebrated their union with a private white wedding in South Africa.

The event was attended by immediate family members from both sides, including Zari’s children, highlighting the family’s close bond.

In an interview on Uganda’s UnCut show, Shakib explained how he met Zari Hassan.

He said that he had had an interest in the mother of five for a long time.

At first, Shakib said he used to attend her White Parties that were held annually in Uganda to get to see her.

Shakib later relocated to South Africa and at one point, he followed Zari when she was driving to the mall.

For the first time, he introduced himself to her.

Upon meeting for the second time, Shakib told her how he felt.

The two would later meet in Uganda where they started developing their friendship into a relationship.

Since then, the two have grown from being just a dating couple to being married.
