The much-anticipated Ugandan production is set to debut on January 14, 2024, according to Baby Gloria in an exclusive phone interview. Produced by Soma and DSTV, the show promises to give viewers a unique insight into the lives of top Kampala socialites and personalities. It will air on Pearl Magic TV and Show Max for online viewers.
When asked about the name of the show, Baby Gloria enthusiastically shared, “It’s called Kampala Crème, and it’s all about showcasing the everyday lives of popular socialites and personalities in Uganda. We want to give people an inside look at how we live.”
Uganda’s entertainment scene needs a show like this. According to Baby Gloria, “We don’t have reality TV in Uganda, so this is the first exclusively Ugandan reality show.”
A fascinating aspect of the show is the mix of participants, including secular personalities like Etania Mimi Deb and Zahara Toto. Further, she shared her experiences working with diverse individuals, saying, “It is easy working with some people, while it is hard working with others.” This dynamic is expected to add a unique flavor to the show as it captures the unfiltered interactions between the cast members.
For the record, Baby Gloria won’t continue the season for personal reasons. However, she teased viewers that her mother, Betty Nakibuka, might make an appearance in some episodes.
Despite being a gospel-affiliated participant, Baby Gloria stressed the importance of having a diverse cast. According to her, believers of Christ need to put out their talents so that they can win souls to Christ. The inclusion of participants from various backgrounds enhances the show’s authenticity by reflecting the diversity of the Ugandan entertainment industry.
The content of the series will showcase the stories and lifestyles of Ugandan celebrities and socialites. They will show the public how their average day goes.
Even though filming for the series’ episodes is complete, Baby Gloria revealed that the overall process is still ongoing, leaving room for unexpected twists and turns as the season continues.
