Give your outfit life with coloured socks

Sock it: There is no written rule when it comes to this accessory!

You never realise how well an accessory can bring your ensemble together until you add something as simple as socks. The coloured version in particular for this trend not only has the power to complete a look elegantly, but it also can turn around the most basic looks and bring it right up the fashion-notable looks, just like that.

These colourful accessories are something that can be explored for both your dressed-down looks that simply need a little spicing or the dressed-up looks as well. And here is how you can elevate your style with these.

Give them a monochrome touch

Possibly the most effortless way to pull these off is by wearing them in a monochrome format. Since they are coloured, you might not be sure about the colour blends with the other pieces, so to keep it safe, wear them as monotones, meaning that the rest of your look should be worn in the same or similar hue to your socks. That means if your socks are worn in green, then add a green shift dress and coat in a similar shade to this. You also have the option of wearing a great skirt matching set for this, to compliment your socks. This is an easy way to pull this off, and still sunning, especially if the pieces are layered well together.

Make your socks the centre of attention

You could also choose to keep the socks as the focal point for your attire. For this option, you can wear your socks in a loud hue or print, and then keep the rest of the look as subtle and minimal as possible. What this does is allow your socks to take centre stage, without being dressed down. For instance, to your little black dress, you can add a pair of pink socks that you can take a step further by matching to your shoes. That way, the lower part of your ensemble is taking all the attention, while allowing for your top to seamlessly blend in.

There is no written rule book when it comes to this accessory. However, be sure to balance out the colours in your look, so you don’t end up looking like a clown, instead of a fashion genius, which was the goal to begin with.
