Ugandan artistes laud Bobi Wine for contesting the presidency

Robert Kyagulanyi commonly known as Bobi Wine made history in Uganda after he contested in the recently concluded presidential election. Bobi Wine who took contested for the highest seat in the country taking on 10 the including the incumbent and winner president Museveni came second with over 3 million votes.

The National Unity Platform leader may not have won the presidential seat, but he won the hearts of many Ugandans including fellow artistes who are hailing him for the bold move. Among them is vocalist Juliana Kanyomozi who worked with Bobi Wine on two songs back in the early 2000s.

Juliana is not known for indulging in politics but he applauded Bobi Wine for inspiring the entire generation and breeding a chain of artistes who joined politics.

“You have come a long way Bobi Wine, and yet you are still standing. You have inspired an entire generation. To say I’m proud of you is an understatement; I take my hat off for you! Big thank you to Barbie for always being your rock. Continue to walk in your calling. Be safe,” Juliana posted.

Spice Diana also came through with a consoling message letting Bobi Wine know that he is loved and admired for what he did in the history of Uganda.

“Courage is contagious, when a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are often stiffened and Bobi Wine has instilled courage in all hearts of those that persue dreams. We are proud of you Bobi Wine for the brave stand you persued and have succeeded at, you have had the courage to follow your heart and intuition. Keep your head high, we love you.  Thank you For inspiring a whole generation. It has not been easy but you have taken a sacrifice for all of us. Thank you. Journey continues,” Spice Diana shared.

It should be noted that Bobi Wine is less than 5 years old on the political scene but he has challenged many including veteran President Museveni in the recently concluded elections. Since he cast his vote, he has been under house arrest and today marks the seventh day since security operatives sealed off his home in Magere Wakiso District.

Ykee Benda, A Pass, Patrick Kanyomozi, and Jose Chameleone among other celebrities have come out to condemn the act.
