Pop superstar Rihanna and her partner A$AP Rocky have welcomed their third child, a daughter named Rocki Irish Mayers, born on September 13. The couple revealed the news on Wednesday through Rihanna’s Instagram, where she shared tender snaps cradling the newborn alongside a pair of miniature pink boxing gloves.
The 37-year-old Fenty mogul and her longtime partner already share two sons: RZA, 3, and Riot, 2. For months, the pair had expressed their desire for a girl to join their growing family, and A$AP Rocky recently told interviewers he was “praying for a girl.”
The baby’s name pays tribute to both parents: “Rocki” echoes A$AP Rocky’s stage name, while “Irish” nods to Rihanna’s father’s heritage, which includes African, Irish, English, and Scottish roots.
The announcement sent fans into celebration, with Rihanna’s Instagram post racking up over 5 million likes within hours. Messages of congratulations flooded in, with one fan writing: “Yes! Manifested it, you know she will be beyond gorgeous. Congratulations Riri.” Another joked: “Okay, babygirl is here, now can we get some music?”
Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, has kept her fans waiting nearly a decade for new music since her 2016 album Anti. In that time, she has launched Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty, growing her empire into a billion-dollar brand. A$AP Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, has spoken about the couple’s efforts to separate work from home life. “When you come home, it’s about family. It’s about your relationship. It’s about your household. It ain’t about all that other stuff,” he said in a recent interview.
