Police on July 1, 2025, conducted a controlled detonation of a suspected explosive device at singer Patrick Mulwana alias Alien Skin’s home in Makindye, Kampala.
The news of the incident which largely went viral on Tik Tok on Tuesday evening has been confirmed by the Police Force today.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Spokesperson Patrick Onyango,police received a report of a suspected explosive at 3:30 PM.
“Upon arrival, Alien Skin presented the grenade to the officers, who advised him to put it down for safety,” said Onyango .
Adding: “He explained that his construction workers had discovered it while digging a foundation at his site in Nakinyogozi, Makindye Division.”
Onyango further noted that the area was cordoned off and a bomb squad team conducted a controlled detonation.
He urged the public to exercise caution when encountering suspicious items,not to touch or move them,and to inform the authorities immediately.
The detonation of the explosive in Makindye has come at a time when security authorities are still probing the two bomb blasts that happened last month in Munyonyo and Kalerwe respectively which left three suspected ADF rebels dead.
