Ugandan music veteran Bebe Cool has shaken the digital music scene with all 16 tracks from his new album Break The Chains entering Apple Music’s Top 100: Uganda, just hours after its Friday release.

At the top of the surge is Cheque, a collaboration with fast-rising star Joshua Baraka, now sitting at No. 11 — the highest-charting track from the album.

Baraka’s own hit Wrong Places is currently No. 1, giving the pair an unlikely one-two punch on the charts. “Joshua brings fresh energy. I bring the experience,” Bebe Cool said. “Cheque is the bridge.”

Another standout, Boy Like Me, rocketed 79 spots to No. 17, a leap attributed to viral playlist traction and TikTok buzz. The club banger Games featuring DJ Edu debuted at No. 22, while Zero Omission, a politically tinged Afrobeat track, landed at No. 26.

“The beat might make you dance, but the message should make you think,” Bebe Cool said of Zero Omission, which has sparked debate online for its veiled social commentary.

Electronic-infused Hips Don’t Lie came in at No. 27, while Home — a nostalgic ballad — took No. 29. Other entries include Body Bounce (No. 36), African Love with Nigeria’s Yemi Alade (No. 41), and the gospel-urban hybrid Save My Soul (No. 45).

Deeper cuts like Hidden Agendas (No. 63) and Rectangle Love (No. 78) offer lyrical introspection and commentary on fame, love, and industry pressures.

“This isn’t about breaking into the Top 100. It’s about dominating it,” said music critic Sam Matovu. “Bebe Cool has remained relevant across generations.”

Baraka echoed the moment’s significance. “It’s not just music, it’s evolution,” he posted online.

With digital platforms becoming a key barometer of impact, Break The Chains positions Bebe Cool as a cross-generational force—bridging old-school influence with modern sounds and streaming trends.
