Dr Solomon Kimera affectionately known online as Dr Solo, is one of Uganda’s internet medics who decided that health education should come with a pinch of salt, a dash of humour and sometimes, just pure chaos. But early this week, Dr Solo stirred the digital pot too hard and got cooked.
And not just locally, but on all continents. What got him into trouble? A rather slippery joke about fibroids. People from different walks of life, countries, and hormonal stages united to drag him. For asking women to rush to have children lest they develop fibroids, many hit back saying he was ignorant and unprofessional for pushing young women into single motherhood and financially unstable lives.
But to those who know Dr Solo, this was classic Kimera. This time though, the joke did not land as well as he anticipated. But well, he bagged the likes.
