For the first time ever, the vibrant colors and cultural heritage of Uganda will come alive in the heart of London during the inaugural edition of the Uganda Festival UK 2025, also known as The Big Weekender.

The two-day celebration, slated for July 5 and 6, 2025, is being organized by Joseph Kiggundu through his Jobs Link Group. Speaking to the press about this groundbreaking initiative, Kiggundu promised an unforgettable experience filled with the rhythmic beats of traditional drums and the sweet aroma of roasted plantains.

“People from all walks of life will have a chance to gather and celebrate the rich culture and heritage of the Pearl of Africa,” said Kiggundu.

The event will feature cultural dancers adorned in colorful costumes, showcasing traditional dances from Uganda’s diverse regions. Renowned musical acts, including the Abeeka Band and other A-list Ugandan performers, are expected to mesmerize the crowd with their energy and passion.

As the day progresses, the festival grounds will transform into a lively marketplace, where vendors from Uganda and the diaspora will showcase crafts, clothing, and artwork. Food stalls will offer a wide array of Ugandan delicacies, from savory stews to sweet treats, bringing the flavors of home to London.

More than just a cultural showcase, the Uganda Festival UK 2025 aims to serve as a unifying platform, celebrating Ugandan identity and strengthening the bonds that connect the Ugandan community in London and beyond.
