It was nine years ago that Anne Kansiime last held a comedy show in Uganda. Being one of Uganda’s comedy exports, Kansiime has graced more comedy stages abroad than back home, but this year, she thought about her fans back home.
Teaming up with Talent Africa Group, she came up with the Anne Kansiime comedy Grill that will be happening next weekend at Sheraton Gardens.
This groundbreaking comedy grill promises to deliver a night of laughter and the most authentic Ugandan spirit of sharp wit and humour.
It will feature a stellar lineup of “Grill Chefs,” including Salvador, Madrat and Chico, Nana Kagga, GNL Zamba, Gaetano Kagwa, Dr. Miria Matembe, Prim Asiimwe, Ann Kansiime’s baby daddy Sky Lanta, , Sheila Gashumba and Omara Daniel, all hosted by Tuwangye Richard and Deedan Muyiira.
Together, they will grill and toast to Kansiime in a showdown like never before.
“There have been several platforms were comedians, artistes and celebrities have been grilling each other abroard and I thought it would be a good start up in Uganda as well. This is something new that you should not miss out,” said Kansiime at her press conference last evening.
The announcement was also made with a twist in the form of a mini roast between Kansiime; the event MC, Daniel Omara and other fellow comedians present as a sneak peek of what to expect at the main event.
Aly Allibhai, the C.E.O. of Talent Africa Group and event organizer, added, “This event is a celebration of not only Anne’s incredible talent but also the innovativeness and cutting-edge experiences. We aim to create an evening where laughter comes together with great refreshing entertainment, ensuring that everyone leaves with a smile.”
