South African Amapiano sensation Tyler ICU is set to headline Season 3 of the Fem Effect festival, taking place Tuesday night at Noni Vie in Kampala. The event, organised in partnership with Don Julio, promises a high-energy celebration of music and culture.
Tyler ICU, renowned for international hits such as “Mnike,” “Inhliziyo,” and “Bella Ciao,” has become one of the continent’s most influential producers, with tracks that have dominated dancefloors across Africa and beyond.
“Tyler is known for crafting infectious Amapiano hits that define nightlife across the continent,” organisers said.
The Fem Effect, curated by Uganda’s own Fem DJ, is now in its third edition and has built a reputation as one of the most inclusive and vibrant music events in the country. The event blends live performances, DJ sets, and curated cultural experiences.
“It’s a celebration of music, community, and expression,” organisers noted. “It’s grown into a gathering of tastemakers, creatives, and music lovers.”
The DJ lineup features some of Kampala’s top talent including Sir Aludah, Selector Jay, DJ Spinny, Slick Stuart, Matson, Roja, City Girl, Mato, and Meek.
Hosting duties will be handled by popular MCs such as Top Boy, Josh MC, Livin MC, Viana Indi, and Evlyn Mic, adding further energy to the night’s festivities.
With Wednesday, May 1, marking the Labour Day public holiday in Uganda, tonight’s event is expected to draw large crowds of partygoers eager to enjoy an extended night out.
Tickets remain available, with early bird prices at UGX 30,000 and UGX 50,000 at the gate. VIP tables are selling for UGX 6 million.
