No $1 Million, no Bebe Cool battle with Chameleone

The first known music battle in Uganda took place between Jose Chameleone and Bobi Wine at Kati Kati. This was followed by the highly anticipated Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine showdown at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds, after which Goodlyf also held a battle with Bebe Cool a few years later.

About two years ago, Cindy and Sheebah staged their own music battle, marking the first-ever female music battle in Uganda, if not East Africa.

However, the ultimate showdown that many are eagerly anticipating is between Bebe Cool and Jose Chameleone—two artists who are said to have revolutionized Uganda’s entertainment industry.

Both artists’ fans are excited for the event, and the artists themselves have hinted that it will eventually take place. They’ve promised that it won’t be a battle fueled by rivalry or personal grudges, but rather a friendly match to celebrate their contributions to the industry.

Bebe Cool, however, has set an ultimatum for the showdown, revealing a price for any sponsor willing to back the event.

According to the Motivation artist, the event will not be driven by personal conflicts but will be purely for business and entertainment value.

He also mentioned that this battle won’t just be a Ugandan affair—it will attract the attention of international media houses like MTV, among others.

“The truth is, the battle between me and Jose Chameleone is a money thing, and it can never go below $1 million. My battle with Joseph isn’t just a battle—it’s an African spectacle. Even MTV has to come and film this because we’re talking about two people who have contributed to an industry that millions of young people benefit from today,” Bebe Cool stated.
