Alien Skin has told National Resistance Movement (NRM) officials to stay away from his home, office and personal space.
“From today onward, NRM officials are not welcome in my home, office, or any part of my space unless your a Fan , Those who booked me for your political campaigns, you can come and collect your money back. I will no longer be associating with NRM officials in any capacity,” the Sitya Danger singer, real name Patrick Mulwana posted on his X.
Alien Skin has in the past been seen rubbing shoulders with NRM officials, the most recent one being with National Vice Chairman NRM Eastern, Mike Mukula, after his gang and that of Pallaso clashed on a music show and at his home.
Although it’s not clear why Alien Skin made the post, some commentators believe it’s because of the running memorandum of understanding he has with the laeder of Democratic Alliance (DA), Mathias Mpuuga who is also the Nyendo-Mukungwe MP and former National Unity Platform (NUP) deputy president for Buganda region.
Officials from the ruling party which has been in power since 1986 when President Museveni entered State House after a five-year guerilla warfare are known for courting and booking musicians during election period to perform at their political rallies as part of their mobilistion strategy.
They picked more interest in musicians ahead of the 2021 presidential elections as they sought to contain musician turned politician, Bobi Wine who challenged President Museveni for the State House.
Museveni was declared winner but Bobi Wine is still seen as a political threat given that most of his supporters are the youth who form the biggest percentage of the country’s population.
