Just like many hip hop artises, you will not find St Nellysade in hangouts or concerts asking for a microphone to perform. He will deliberately perform on only hip hop platforms which are really rare lately.
The absence of such platforms has limited his performances as he explained during a Baboon Forest podcast recently. “If you ask me the state of hip hop right now, I will tell you there are no hip hop platforms like before when I was starting out. People do not know where to find hip hop. In 2012, we had many platforms, including Bonfire at National Theatre, Spoken Truth at Club Rouge, we also had Wapi, among others,” he said.
