Uganda’s top comedy duo, Madrat and Chiko, are set to commemorate a decade of comedy excellence with their highly anticipated Nseko Buseko comedy show, thanks to a significant UGX 30 million sponsorship from Uganda Waragi, a product of Uganda Breweries. This partnership marks a major milestone for both the duo and Uganda’s comedy industry, as the pair prepares for their 10th anniversary show slated for October 8, 2024, at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel.

The anniversary show, which is the 5th season of Nseko Buseko, will highlight Madrat and Chiko’s journey through 10 years of delivering laughter to audiences across the country. It is expected to be a night of hilarious performances, special guest appearances, and a celebration of Ugandan comedy. The duo expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Uganda Waragi during the official launch of the anniversary show, which was held at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel.

“We’re extremely grateful to Uganda Waragi for their unwavering support, not only for Nseko Buseko but for the comedy industry as a whole,” Madrat and Chiko said during the launch. “This sponsorship helps us continue doing what we love while giving our fans an unforgettable show as we celebrate this significant milestone.”

Hillary Baguma, Uganda Breweries’ Brand Manager for Mainstream Spirits, also congratulated Madrat and Chiko on reaching the 10-year mark. “As a brand that celebrates all things Ugandan with a heritage spanning 59 years, we are thrilled to be part of writing the story of Ugandan comedy and contributing to the growth of creative talent,” he remarked.

The launch event was a grand affair, with members of the media, event partners, and comedy industry professionals treated to a Uganda Waragi cocktail experience. Guests enjoyed signature cocktails expertly prepared by professional mixologists, reflecting the brand’s deep connection to celebrating Ugandan talent and culture.

Uganda Waragi’s sponsorship of Nseko Buseko is part of the brand’s ongoing commitment to supporting Ugandan comedy. The brand has previously sponsored several key comedy events in the country, including Fun Factory’s Comedicine show, Laugh with Owakabi, Salvador’s Africa Laughs, and Alex Muhangi’s Comedy Store, among others. Their continued support reflects a dedication to promoting Uganda’s creative industry and ensuring its sustainability.

Madrat and Chiko’s 10th-anniversary show promises to be an unforgettable night of laughter. The comedy duo won’t stop there. Following the Kampala show, Madrat and Chiko will take their comedy tour to other parts of Uganda. They are scheduled to perform at Colline Hotel in Mukono on October 12th, Maria Flo in Masaka on October 19th, and Adit Mall in Mbarara, ensuring their 10th anniversary celebration reaches fans across the country.

As Madrat and Chiko continue to make their mark in Uganda’s comedy landscape, their collaboration with Uganda Waragi highlights the strong partnership between corporate brands and the creative arts, ensuring that Ugandan comedy continues to flourish.
