Many events happened over the weekend as the world ushered into 2024- and these included Enkuuka and Nkwacho festival in Kampala.

At Lubiri Mengo, Enkuuka was organized by events promoter Abitex while the first edition of Enkwacho festival took place at Wankulukuku Stadium.

Musician Bebe Cool did not perform at Enkuuka but was one of the headlining acts at Nkwacho festival and during the unveiling of his annual list. He said Alien Skin’s event was more profitable than Abitex’s.

The Gagamel boss said that there is some money you have to pay the kingdom before you go into other costs at Enkuuka.

“CBS has 30,000, 40,000 up to 50,000 people in attendance at Enkuuka. The event is sold for shs300million and then shs50million that you have to pay in the office of the Kabaka which is a total of 350million before you think about the stage, sound, artistes and other advertisements. So with 350million that is 35,000 people at shs10,000. So, to break even, Abitex needs 50,000 people but if Alien Skin comes and asks for shs10,000 as entrance, he will have beaten you hands down,” Bebe Cool said.

He added that the people who attended Alien Skin’s show are the same people who have been attending Enkuuka so if the Fangone forest owner managed to get them over at Wankulukuku without the costs that Abitex had to pay before, then Enkwacho was more successful.
