King Saha appointed UMA Vice President in cabinet reshuffle

The Uganda Musicians Association president Cinderella Sanyu has announced a major reshuffle in the cabinet with musician King Saha earning a top spot on the ruling body.

UMA announced a significant reshuffle within its Cabinet, Committees, and Secretariat, and the move is aimed at invigorating the organization’s efforts in championing the interests of Uganda’s vibrant music industry.

“Under the visionary leadership of President Cinderella Sanyu Okuyo, these changes are a testament to UMA’s commitment to progress, unity, and excellence,” reads part of the press release.

Manisur Semanda alias King Saha has been given the position of new Vice President.

“UMA is thrilled to introduce popularly known as King Saha, as the newly appointed Vice President of the association. King Saha’s wealth of experience in the music industry, coupled with his unwavering dedication to the advancement of Ugandan music, makes him a valuable addition to the UMA leadership team,” the letter stated.

To foster inclusivity and representation across all corners of Uganda, UMA has initiated a reshuffle of regional and sub-regional leaders. This strategic move aims to ensure that every artist’s voice is heard, regardless of their geographical location.

These changes are designed to bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the table, fostering a stronger sense of unity and cooperation among members.

This interim period underscores UMA’s adaptability and commitment to ensuring the uninterrupted advancement of Ugandan music.

The reshuffle within the Cabinet, Committees, and Secretariat signifies the association’s ongoing commitment to achieving these goals and further strengthening the Ugandan music industry on both local and international platforms.

Cinderella Sanyu on the other hand commented, “While we eagerly await the upcoming nationwide election funded by the government, we remain steadfast in our pursuit of a thriving music industry. King Saha’s appointment as Vice President and the strategic reshuffle of leaders invigorate our journey toward a stronger, united music community.”

She also expressed her enthusiasm for the developments, stating that the association’s success hinges on our ability to adapt, evolve, and collaborate effectively.

“With the inclusion of King Saha as Vice President and the introduction of new regional and sub-regional leaders, we are paving the way for a brighter future for Uganda’s music industry. Together, we will continue to uplift and empower our fellow musicians.”

Following the suspension of UMA elections by the Minister of Gender, Labour, and Social Development and the announcement of government funding for a nationwide election, UMA will continue to function under the interim regime.
