This was a Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania affair -call it the East African party- last evening at the Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala.

On the night, Uganda’s Spice Diana, Winnie Nwagi, Alien Skin, Crysto Panda, Karole Kasita and Abeeka Band shared the stage with Nameless from Kenya and Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania during the comedy store charity concert. The show was all bliss as all performing acts delivered their best to the acknowledgement of the crowd. However, Nameless and Diamond Platnumz took the night with their sizzling performances.

Nameless got to the crowd more with his earlier hits like Deadly, Bomba Train, Ninanoki and Githurai before making everyone sing along to Nasinzia, perhaps his biggest song in his career. Diamond was on stage for more than an hour doing all his biggest hits including Wape, Marry you, Babalawo, Jeje and Tetema twice among many others. The Tanzania icon further teased the audience by singing Aziz Azion’s Nkumila Omukwano which he dedicated to Zari for being the mother of his two kids. Diamond also sampled Chameleone’ Mama Mia before doing his other songs dancing as the crowd cheered him on.

Fenon Events delivered a gigantic stage with big screens on each side. The size of the stage made it comfortable for Diamond Platnumz who is fond of dancing and using each corner of the stage with his signature stage movements. The lighting and the good sound still put up by Fenon was an added advantage as the sound was well balanced in the enormous Kololo Airstrip.

Among the Ugandans who got the crowd on their feet was Alien Skin, Karole Kasita, Winnie Nwagi and Suuna Ben with his Binyanyanya.Proceeds from the show will be going towards the Comedy Store Foundation which was launched in April 2022 with the objective of running programs aimed at facilitating youth skilling and mentorship as well as positively impacting the society within which the comical establishment operates.

The Foundation currently runs three key programs including the annual Home of Hope Charity football match; Comedy Auditions Program and the Youth Training and Mentorship Program.
