Irene Namatovu celebrates birthday with the less privileged

People celebrate birthdays in several ways. Some invest in parties, others spend time with loved ones but for Irene Namatovu, giving back to society was the ideal thing for her to do.

The singer added another year earlier this week but decided to celebrate yesterday with less privileged people.

The ‘Kuzala Kujagana’ singer spent most of the day with the elderly and children from her former school, the Kampala Students Centre in Makerere Kivulu. She donated goods worth thousands of shillings.

She donated goods including food and school supplies, among others.

“My birthday was on Wednesday but I decided to celebrate it at my old school Kampala Students Centre,” she said.

“I donated to them different items, including scholastic materials. I did this mainly because schools are resuming and I thought it was the best thing to offer them at the time.” She added.
