I wasn’t attacking anyone – Cindy on her feminism post

Musician Cinderella Sanyu on Women’s Day posted a message that was directed to feminists.

“Since the other day, I was wondering what to tell women (specifically) for women’s day so after a lot of thought this is my message to women. Unless you’re lesbian, don’t join the feminist movement, you will end up sad, alone, and lonely. No joke,” Cindy’s message read.

With this message, many came out saying that she was attacking fellow artiste Sheebah Karungi and their views stem from the fact that Sheebah has always fronted herself as a feminist at every opportunity she gets. The former Blu *3 member came out and made it clear that her message was not directed to anyone.

“I was not telling anybody specifically but telling women all over the world. I didn’t mention any names but it is you guys who decided to attach names to the post. A feminist is a movement all over the world,” Cindy said in an interview recently, adding that not one person is powerful enough to own feminism.

She further gave reasons why she is no longer part of the feminist movement saying it lost direction.

“When feminism started, it was fighting for female rights but in the middle, it switched to fighting men and that is how I left. We can’t do without men and that is my big problem with feminism.”
