Fans asked to boycott David Lutalo show

David Lutalo

Local Musicians in Fort Portal City have shown their displeasure and grievances thus mobilizing and asking local fans and music lovers to boycott and shun the forth-coming David Lutalo show that will be held on March 4, at Allan Resort in the tourism city.

According to some of them, David Lutalo and his team planned a show on the same date when there will be Western Uganda Music Awards (WUMA) giveaways, saying this was intended to overshadow the award-giving day.

‘We as WUMA, truly love and support Ugandan music as well as David Lutalo and all his songs but on a SAD note, we regret to say that we do not appreciate how the David Lutalo promoter can try to overshadow an upcoming home event and the region since Western Uganda Music has on that same day March 4, 2023, organised to give awards to all our best artists in Fort-Portal,” this according to the WUMA official statement

WUMA adds “The promoter and the organizer of David Lutalo show should clear the air as to why he/she would try to divide people of Tooro and Fort-Portal,”

Also, Music promoters in the tourism city are preferring the show to be boycotted saying it is disrespectful, David Lutalo planned a show even when there will be no local artistes who were invited to perform adding that local fans were only prepared for the WUMA ceremony giving awards to local artistes.

Inno Promotions “Unfortunately the promoters for David Lutalo show do not wish Fort-Portal Music Industry to go beyond evidenced by the organisation of their event on the same date for Western Uganda Music Awards.”
