Legendary guitarist Eddy Ganja seeks God’s help in new release

Celebrated singer and guitarist Edmund Ganja known by his stage name Eddy Ganja has dropped a new single dubbed ‘Help me Lord’. The all-english song is a pure reflection of how we all need God’s super natural power in life.

‘Help me Lord’ would be a message we all relate with normally however for Eddy Ganja, the message has been interpreted as a desperate call to God as things may be falling apart for the widower who recently lost his wife. Eddy Ganja a few years ago lost his wife of his youth and since then, life hasn’t been the same for him.

Since the passing of his wife, Eddy Ganja says he hsd received so much love from his family, friends and fans who continue to ask him to be strong.

Who is Eddy Ganja?

Eddy Ganja was born Edmund Ganja and is a guitarist, vocalist and composer, who does individual works but also attached Uganda’s oldest music outfit, Afrigo Band. He started doing music in 1969 when he was a student at Kololo SS.

He joined the then Crane Band that was then Uganda’s most popular teenage bands where he was a guitarist.

At the band, he composed and recorded his first single dubbed ‘I Got A Feeling’ and later ‘Anifah’, under the Cranes label. In 1974, the band split up but he remained a band member.

In 1975, he joined Afrigo band where he has remained till today.

Besides performing in Afrigo, he has composed and sang a song dubbed ‘Baseketelera Nga Nze’, which was one of the band’s greatest songs back in the day.
