If Kenzo meant what he said, I am riding with Philly all day – Navio

Navio during the performance

In the ‘Mr DJ’ all-star song, Navio said he was in the same league with “Philly, Elly, Afrigo” which explains why he has confirmed that he is on Philly Bongole Lutaya’s side all day in the ongoing comparisons between the late and Eddy Kenzo.

While being hosted on Horizon Vibe on Magic 1HD, Navio was asked to comment about Kenzo’s statement regarding the rendition of Philly’s ‘Born in Africa’ and he said one doesn’t need to get into technicalities with a legend.

“No disrespect coz Eddy is my boy but you don’t get into those technicalities with a legend first of all because then they start breaking down why your song blew up. As soon as we get into that direction, it’s a different conversation,” said Navio.

He further stated that Philly on this day went in the studio, sang a song and released it and did wonders in Africa. “So as soon as you get into that, then we have to look at the technicalities and sometimes you don’t have to do that. So I don’t think he meant it like that but if he did, I am riding with Philly all day.”
