Rickman collabs with An-Known in heartfelt dedication to lover Sheilah Gashumba

A couple of days after grabbing the headlines with his girlfriend Sheilah Gashumba, as she opened her Gash Luxe business a glamorous, all-in-one shopping lounge, content creation studio and mini champagne bar, Rickman Manrick released a tribute love song to her, in collaboration with smooth-voiced singer An-Known Prosper.

After releasing the song, Rickman took to his Twitter to share some details about how it was made,

“I wrote my verse looking at you @SheilahGashumba year 2021 at Hilton hotel.” He revealed.

“Each and every word came straight from the heart ?? you looked amazing made it so easy to flow my Cinderella ? #omulungicinderella, he posted.

The song starts off with an intro by Rickman, followed by a verse by An-Known. The singer mirrors the subject matter in the rapper’s lyrics throughout the song, and he also delivers a powerful chorus. In it, the name “Cinderella” is repeatedly sang by the young vocalist as a hook, and is definitely bound to stay in the mind of anyone that listens to it. As usual, An-Known shows off his vocal prowess, as he sings almost entirely in falsetto; reminiscent of the likes of Frank Ocean. The subtle touch of reverb added to Prosper’s voice, makes his performance even sweeter. Rickman on the other hand, more of raps than sings.

In the pre-chorus, the lyrical inspiration from the 2009 mega-hit Bread & Butter is mentioned, in this ode to Rickman’s lover Sheilah Gashumba. Her name is not expressly mentioned in the song, but the official artwork of the audio is a beauty headshot of her, fully glammed up, with curls partially covering her right eye, while she softly holds her right cheek.

The audio producer, Spot Music, An-Known’s long time collaborator since the latter’s breakthrough, drives the song with a high-tempo rhythm piano; in the typical four-chord, pop music progression. The piano is accompanied by a synthetic bass line, snaps and other abstract sounds.
