Sometimes we are not able to clear our bills, this could happen for different reasons. In Kampala, I speak of Kampala because that is where I live, and have witnessed this, women tend to expect men to cater for their bills no matter how big they are.
This morning a tweet by a one Viola Ishabiire made rounds indicating that a couple of her distant friends went to and failed to clear the bill after they had expensive drinks and food.
According to Viola, the ladies came in with a man who they expected to clear the bill but he disappeared leaving them in debt of Shs 1.3M. “Oh dear girls. A circle of distant friends i know are held at a bar in Bugolobi over a bill of 1,360,000ugx..apparently the guy they were with disappeared in the night. They’ve been given up to 10am to clear or else will be taken to jinja road police,” she posted.
When will we stop to shame ourselves like this. You can’t go to a bar with nothing and expect someone to foot the whole bill. I think the guy must have to scared of the orders and found his way out. Plus if you go you to a bar.. First clear your order before you get drunk.

A lot of male Twitter users applaud the man for teaching the girls a lesson.
Tabu Butagira replied, “Us of Stingy Men’s Association of Uganda (SMAU) are pleased, proud & primed to decorate this gentleman. The boy child is being freed —- at last!”
“I should meet this guy and toast to teaching some girls a lesson, someone decently takes you out and you start ordering things you’ve never bought in your life … well done lad. ?????????? we shall fix this nation one bill at a time,” said comedian Patrick Salvado.
Viola later gave an update saying the girls managed to raise Shs680k and given over their phones as security.
“Update! The 3 Girls managed to raise 680k. And given one 1phone 12 pro, techno camon 19 and infinix as security. They’ve promised to clear the bill before Saturday,” Ishabiire posted.
