Bikers promote Uganda’s tourism through the Ubuntu ride to South Africa

The bikers right before they set off from Munyonyo to embark on a 35 day ride to South Africa

Uganda is one of the most beautiful countries in Africa as it is described as the Pearl. On Sunday August 14, 2022, the president of the Uganda Bickers Association (UBA) Ms. Angella Ssemukutu flagged off a number of eight bikers that will ride to South Africa. The journey dubbed ‘Uganda To South Africa Ride’ started from Coffee at Last in Munyonyo was organized with an aim of promoting Ubuntu and Tourism.

While over 20 bikers set off from Coffee at Last only eight will ride all the way to South Africa as others will stop along the way. They will be on the road for 35 days and pass through 12 countries.

The association practices Ubuntu which simply means togetherness and the ride is one way to improve brother hood. Tourism they want to know about Uganda so we are representing Uganda holding the flag.

According to the president Ms Ssemukutu, we have very beautiful tourist attractions that need to be marked to the rest of the world. Speaking to the press at the flag off of the bikers, she said, “We are here today to flag off the team that is going to South Africa for a trip dubbed ‘Ubuntu Adventure Tourism Ride’. We as bikers want to promote the tourism industry in Uganda, look at the beautiful falls that we have, many people don’t know how beautiful Uganda and this is what we want people to know so we want to promote Uganda by telling them about the tourism that we have. Uganda is an infectiously beautiful country, whose christening as the Pearl of Africa, is a deserving one thanks to its geographical features.”

The country is blessed with attractions such as mountain gorillas, the source of River Nile, Lake Victoria, good weather, friendly people, diverse culture from 53 tribes, food varieties, national parks and strong waterfalls, among others.
