At least seven out of 10 tall buildings have lifts to enable ease movement and Thobani Centre is one of those tall buildings in Kampala where the Zzina awards took place a few days ago.
They were held on the last floor but as other guests and performers were filling up lifts to the ninth floor, Daddy Andre decided to take the stairs. We found him on the fourth floor exhausted along with two of his aides. Still he refused to take the lift and by the time he reached the venue, he was sweating like a long distance runner.
At the end of his trek, he took a moment on the stairs to catch his breath before entering the venue for a photo moment. Efforts to verify if the singer-producer has a phobia for lifts were futile as he was elusive the entire evening.
