There were doubts that Nigerian artiste Ruger was not going to perform in Uganda after what transpired on Saturday evening. The show that was supposed to happen on Saturday in Munyonyo was blocked by the Uganda police due to security reasons.

However, the show was later given the green light but was scheduled for the following day. Despite the situation before, Ruger gave his all to his Ugandan fans and the show dubbed ‘The Big Brunch’ marked the beginning of events in Uganda after two years of lockdown.

The event organized by East meets West dubbed “The Big Brunch” kicked off as early as midday. The setting was done Tymlez Events which gave the VIP section a touch of class.

The event saw performances from artistes Aroma and Hit Nature before Azawi took on the stage. She put up a very calm and composed performance that got the crowd on their feet. She performed most songs off her African Music album including ‘Slow Dancing’, ‘Party Mood’, ‘Ache for You’, and ‘My Year’ among others.

After Azawi, Ruger took to the stage, he kicked off the show with a freestyle about Uganda and performed for exactly one hour. The artiste who gave the show his all with an energetic performance did songs like ‘Snap Chat’, ‘Useless’ and ‘Champion’ but ended with the two title hits, ‘Dior’ and ‘Bounce’ that drove the world crazy.

The singer showcased some energy while on stage and left Ugandans singing and shouting on top of their voices, inviting the ladies to join him on stage to dance and sing along to the songs.
